Containment Solutions

Combisafe create/construct THE containment standard.

Combisafe have always led systemised construction safety across Europe. Modern city centre sites with tight footprints need to contain any fallout from their works, and robust temporary measures are required to prevent the workers from falling, and to protect the general public from any falling materials. Combisafe are now setting the standard in containment solutions.

There is no point of reference for containment performance, so Combisafe started by developing their own. The Combisafe Containment Standard defines containment, sets levels of containment density, and describes performance tests for the various loading conditions.

Combisafe then developed a range of containment systems to satisfy these performance levels. Some are developed from existing Combisafe systems, whilst others are totally new. Some offer floor to soffit rigid containment in steel mesh, whilst others start as edge protection and are then filled in as required. The range of solutions includes pre-fixed connections that allow early installation as part of the construction process, together with anchor attachments and friction supported compression posts that allow reactive use.

All the systems are installed without leaving the working surface, significantly increasing installer safety, and all the systems can be “opened” at any place along the protected edge, to allow access.

All the Combisafe containment solutions are tested to comply with the edge protection requirements of EN 13374, and they are also subjected to additional testing to confirm their compliance with the Combisafe Containment Standard.

These new Combisafe containment solutions literally set the Standard, and begin another chapter in the Combisafe story of improved construction safety.
